The girlchild came home from school one day this week and decided she was going to make a book and write a story. I’ve no idea where she got the idea from, I don’t think they’ve been writing stories in literacy this week. She worked so hard all evening and is determined to finish writing it (though she has been asking me for ideas of what should happen next).

I bought the boychild a magazine kn Wednesday as I had to take him with me to a meeting with a fellow school governor. He was fabulous. He sat quietly working as hard on his colouring as we were on our notes. I was very proud of my grown up little man.

Apologies, I’ve got a little behind with posting these pictures but I have been taking them.

I went in to give the boychild his usual kiss goodnight on Wednesday, only to have him roll over onto my hand. It took a little bit of wriggling to get it out without waking him, but was very sweet. I’ve been feeling that my baby is growing up rapidly lately, but with him sleeping on my hand (briefly) it reminded my he’s still my little one.

After yesterday’s walk these are my friends… a knee support and pain relieving gel. The knee issues that have flared up recently have definitely been aggravated. Straightening my knee has been a challenge today. Hopefully with some sleep and more pain killers it’ll feel reasonable tomorrow for my train journey home. Since I didn’t know when we’d return from the hen weekend I couldn’t book a train for today, I’ve had a lovely bonus evening with mum instead. I’m looking forward to seeing my precious trio tomorrow, and especially having a hug from my wonderful husband, I’ve really missed him this weekend.

Apologies for the late posting of this but I’ve been away on a hen weekend. This was the view as a group of friends and I walked down a valley in the Lake District on our way to dinner. We had a fantastic time, though the 9 mile walk earlier in the day was hard work! Amazingly the weather stayed beautiful all day, the typical rain didn’t appear until today.
